Pensions Ombudsman update: November 2014 - February 2015

Complaints continue to be made to the Pensions Ombudsman covering a wide range of issues. It is essential for trustees and sponsoring employers to keep abreast of the Ombudsman's determinations to assess the impact on their scheme. To help you, I am pleased to attach the latest edition of our Ombudsman updates covering the period November 2014 to February 2015.

Important areas covered in this edition include the consequences of failing to provide members with adequate information regarding the application of discretionary lump sum death benefits; details of the implications of failing to set out members' options for taking early retirement; and important points to note from the influx of pension liberation schemes currently appearing in the UK pensions market.
