The new Biden administration: What does the future look like for a UK/US trade deal?

The countdown to Brexit and beyond podcast - episode six

Since midnight on 31 December 2020, we are now in the ‘beyond’ phase and of particular interest at this point is the timing for the eagerly-anticipated trade deal between the UK and USA.

President Joe Biden has now been inaugurated as the 46th President of The United States and has a lot on his mind. In our previous podcast we discussed how far down the order of priority a UK/US trade deal might be for the incoming administration. The conclusion we reached that there are at least five or six major issues to be fixed by the Biden Administration ahead of such a trade deal; including, the Global Pandemic, the US economy and rebuilding bridges with Europe and the rest of the world (all as discussed between the then President-Elect Joe Biden and Kamala Harris in their first interview with CNN following the results of the presidential election).

However, things may have changed following the announcement of the EU/China trade deal immediately after Brexit. In this episode, Chip Cottrell (H&K) and Patrick Somers (TLT) talked to Marc Gilston (TLT), Seth Stodder (H&K) and Matt Siembieda (H&K) to discuss the latest updates.
