TLT Real Estate Partner Ben Tarrant has been elected President of Bristol Law Society at its Annual General Meeting.
For the last three years, Ben has been on Bristol Law Society Council and Executive. He was a key part of the team who implemented and pushed through changes to modernise the Society.
One recent change has been the introduction of corporate rates. This means that all employees of member law firms, barristers chambers and businesses are automatically members of Bristol Law Society. This supports the Council and Executive's aim to expand and diversify.
Ben says, "I'm delighted to have been appointed Bristol Law Society President. In my new role, I want to continue the focus on creating partnerships and engaging with the many groups within the legal sector. This includes in house lawyers, sole practitioners and government lawyers and other professional bodies such as the accountants, surveyors and bankers. I also want to get key decision makers and influencers in Bristol to talk and listen to the business and legal community."
Bristol Law Society is governed by a President, two Vice Presidents, other officers and a council of solicitors. Council members come from a variety of backgrounds, large and small firms, in-house and private practice and cover all areas of legal work in order to reflect the profession as a whole.
