TLT has named financial services litigation partner Andy Lyon as head of its London office and IP litigation partner Graeme Orchison as head of its Manchester office. The appointments are effective immediately.
London head Andy Lyon succeeds Richard Waller, who remains on the firm's executive board as head of Banking and Lender Services. Graeme is the firm's first location head in Manchester having been one of the founding partners of the office when it opened in the city in summer 2013.
The new location heads join Katharine Kimber in Northern Ireland and Tom McEntegart in Scotland, delivering at a local level the firm's strategy around clients, people and work.
TLT’s managing partner, David Pester said: “We've grown considerably in the last few years, deepening expertise across our UK-wide advisory, transactional and disputes service lines. Our location heads ensure we deliver those services consistently and effectively to our clients wherever they access them."
London head and financial services litigation partner Andy Lyon said: "Working with the firm's executive board, I will be looking at the next phase in our development in London. We currently have strong expertise advising clients on banking & finance, real estate and litigation matters. We want to build that reputation further, winning work and expanding our area of expertise in London."
Manchester head and IP litigation partner Graeme Orchison said: "From a standing start, we've made a significant impact on the Manchester market. In just over a year, we've built a 60 strong team with some major lateral partner hires, attracted by our collaborative and entrepreneurial approach. The pace of growth in Manchester will continue into 2015, with the team here concentrating on maintaining our positive momentum and clear focus on working together to deliver for our clients."
The firm has invested in significant growth over the last three years expanding across the UK with new offices in Belfast, Manchester and, through the acquisition of Anderson Fyfe, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
Recent lateral hires include corporate partner Stephen Devlin from DLA, DWF's financial services litigation team led by Richard Webb and restructuring & insolvency partner Alastair Lomax from Pinsent Masons.
The firm recently agreed a ten year lease for 22,049 sq ft of offices in Spinningfields, Manchester as well as 6533 sq ft of new space in Montgomery House, Belfast.
