TLT maintains high retention rate of trainee solicitors and welcomes new trainees

National law firm TLT has maintained its high retention rate by offering all seven trainees full time roles at the firm. Laura Fitzpatrick, Dave Maton, Nick Middleton, Tristan Smale, Hugh Smith, Caroline Urban have all accepted permanent roles at the firm after completing their training contracts. One trainee chose not to accept TLT's offer because there was not a role available in their preferred practice area.

The newly qualified solicitors will join TLT's corporate, corporate recovery and insolvency, employment, private business, banking and financial services litigation teams which are based across the firm's Bristol and London offices.

TLT is also welcoming four new trainee solicitors to the firm's training scheme. Louis Dewfall, Cecily Donoghue, Charlotte Mapston and Neetu Sehdev start their two-year training contract working in the commercial property, planning and development and commercial services teams in both the Bristol and London offices.

Each of the new trainees will spend six months in a different 'seat' or specialist team, getting first hand experience of law in action and advising TLT's clients under expert supervision. TLT currently has 26 trainee solicitors working through their training contracts at the firm's Bristol, London, Edinburgh and Glasgow offices.

Deputy Trainee Principal and Partner Richard Hayllar says, "Career development at TLT is about giving people the support they need to achieve their professional and personal goals. We recruit the best people and invest in them to ensure that they are able to fulfil their full potential."

Trainees at TLT gain first-hand experience of the law and advising TLT’s clients, which include FTSE-listed and national and international businesses, such as the Co-operative Group, Barclays Bank, EDF Energy, Punch Taverns, Triodos Bank and WHSmith.

Clients have voted TLT the best UK law firm for client service in Legal Week's independently researched Client Satisfaction Report 2012. TLT has also been named National Firm of the Year at the Legal Business Awards 2013 acknowledging the firm's strategy and growth in Scotland and Northern Ireland and TLT was named Best Managed Firm and won Best Community Engagement at this year's Managing Partners' Forum Awards.
