TLT has appointed partner, Ed Fiddick, as its new Training Principal. He takes over from Richard Hayllar who held the post for three years.
In his role Ed will be responsible for TLT's trainee recruitment programme as well as mentoring the firm's trainees. He will also work closely with the firm's graduate recruitment manager, Gemma Cowley, to provide career guidance, including seat choice.
TLT's Ed Fiddick said: "Within the firm's supportive environment, I've seen first-hand how ongoing mentoring, expert supervision and direct access to clients allow our trainees to thrive.
"As a firm we are committed to making sure that there are development and training opportunities suited to the individual. It's vital that our trainees have a clear career path, encouraging them to maximise their technical and soft skills to progress further. In my new role, I want to build on the work of my predecessors by continuing to deliver a trainee programme that attracts, retains and develops leading lawyers for the future."
Currently there are 31 trainee solicitors working through their training contracts at the firm's Bristol, London, Manchester, Glasgow and Belfast offices. TLT's trainees generally spend six months in four different 'seats' or specialist teams, getting first-hand experience of law in action and advising clients under supervision.
Ed has been at TLT for over 11 years. He is a commercial litigator experienced in contract and negligence disputes, pensions litigation, shareholder and partnership disputes, and restrictive covenant claims. Ed specialises in court and arbitration cases, litigation, interim measures (freezing orders, injunctions) and alternative dispute resolution (mediation).
