TLT’s Matthew Phipps, a licensing partner, has advised long-standing client Las Iguanas, the Latin American restaurant chain, on its successful application for a premises licence for its new restaurant in Torquay.
Las Iguanas was granted its licence application, meaning that they will be able to open until midnight every day and until 1am on Friday and Saturday nights.
The restaurant will be in the £12million Abbey Sands development and will create 50 new jobs ahead of opening in April this year. This is the first Las Iguanas restaurant in the sea-side resort town, adding to the chain’s national property portfolio. Currently there are 38 other restaurants in the UK, including Exeter, Bristol, Cardiff and Plymouth in the South West.
TLT’s Matthew Phipps said:
"Having worked with Las Iguanas for over 10 years, we understand exactly what they want. By securing this premises licence, we are delighted to see Las Iguanas’ geographical reach increase, helping deliver their growth plans."
Mos Shamel, Chief Executive of Las Iguanas, said:
"Expanding into Torquay, one of the UK’s top tourist spots, was an important strategic step for Las Iguanas. Throughout the negotiations, TLT once again provided first-rate commercial advice, ensuring that the premise licence application was successfully granted."
