TLT has advised the shareholders of Berwin Group, a leading UK rubber compounder, on its sale to HEXPOL, a Swedish listed polymer compounding group.
The sale provides an exit for Berwin's Chairman and main shareholder Glyn Williams, who led a management buy-out in 1983.
The TLT team was led by Andrew Needham and included specialists across the firm's corporate, commercial, real estate, banking & restructuring and tax teams. Dow Schofield Watts Corporate Finance also advised on the transaction.
TLT's Andrew Needham said: "Having been involved in the original management buyout years ago it's fantastic that we acted on the sale of the company to its new owner. This could only have been achieved by a great team effort by all those involved across our specialist areas."
Berwin's Glyn Williams said: "The Berwin shareholders would like to thank the full team at TLT for their assistance in bringing this deal to a successful conclusion. The shareholders were particularly impressed and grateful for the way the team, led by Andrew Needhan, guided them through the complete deal from start to finish."
Berwin's compounds are used in leading tyre brands, in products such as door and engine seals and hoses within the automotive, aerospace and oil and gas industries. Founded over 60 years ago, the company employs over 200 staff across its headquarters in Dukinfield, Manchester and Lydney sites.
