Scam email warning

We are aware of members of the public receiving emails falsely alleging to be from Richard Leigh of TLT LLP.  The fraudster, Marcus Taylor, claims to be the next of kin and beneficiary of a large inheritance from the late James Taylor. The emails and fake legal documentation try to convince you that Richard Leigh of TLT LLP is dealing with the estate.

Recipients of the scam are advised that they have been identified as a possible beneficiary, and their personal details and copies of ID documents are requested in order to release the money.  Another element of this scam involves inducing potential victims to legally marry Marcus Taylor in order to be entitled to a share of the supposed inheritance.

To date, we are aware of the scam emails originating from the following email addresses:

  • tlt.solicitors@lawyer.com
  • tlt_solicitors@live.com
  • T-ltsolicitor.s@hotmail.com
  • T-ltsolicitors@live.com

We are actively taking steps to shut down these accounts.  In the meantime, if you believe you may have been targeted by someone posing as Richard Leigh or TLT LLP, please do not make any payments or give out your personal details. If you receive an email regarding this subject please contact the Risk Team immediately on 0333 006 0000.
