Partner promotions and strategic hires strengthen TLT's industry sector focus

National law firm TLT is promoting five of its associates to partner and making a series of senior hires from firms including SNR Denton, Trowers & Hamlins and Maclay Murray & Spens LLP.

TLT's new partners are commercial lawyer Alison Deighton who specialises in data protection and Freedom of Information matters; commercial litigator Ed Fiddick; restructuring and insolvency lawyer Andrew Lockerbie, Gary Roscoe in TLT's banking and asset finance team in Bristol; and affordable housing specialist Kate Silverman. The partner promotions will take effect on 1st May 2012 and increase the number of partners at the firm to 70.

TLT is also making three senior hires in its London office to support the firm's focus on its chosen industry sectors. Partner Nathan Williams joins the firm in May 2012 from Trowers & Hamlins' London office. Nathan will head TLT's corporate tax team.

TLT is making two new associate appointments, both lateral hires, during May and June. Dominic Gilmore joins from top 25 law firm SNR Denton with strong expertise in wholesale and retail financial services regulation to strengthen TLT's leading focus on the financial services sector.

Affordable housing specialist Andrew Shaw will join TLT as an associate from the London office of Maclay Murray & Spens LLP to further strengthen the firm's niche expertise in this area and support TLT's growing client base of registered providers and local authorities.

TLT's Senior Partner, Robert Bourns, says, "Our partner promotions recognise individual abilities, strong contribution to the development of client relationships and long-term commitment and loyalty to TLT's business and continued success. In addition, we continue to recruit talented individuals who we believe can deliver real value to our clients. These moves will strengthen TLT's offering to clients, particularly in the financial services and housing sectors."

TLT is recognised as one of the best employers in the legal profession. The firm has recently won awards for ‘Excellence in Talent Management and Retention’ and ‘HR Team of the Year’ at The Lawyer Workplace & Diversity Awards against stiff competition from global, Magic Circle and international law firms. The firm has been recognised as a ‘first class’ employer by Best Companies Limited, the company which carries out the research for The Sunday Times 100 Best Companies list, and has been named as one of the top 5 UK legal employers by industry publication Legal Week.
