TLT is growing its social housing team with the arrival of two lead partners from Lewis Silkin. Real estate head Linda Convery and social housing partner Gillian Bastow will join TLT's London office on 3 August.
Linda advises on the development of new social, affordable housing and complex mixed use regeneration schemes. She also represents a range of organisations involved in retirement housing and Extracare schemes. Gillian’s work covers a wide range of legal and commercial issues affecting the businesses of social housing providers and relating to the delivery of mixed use development schemes. Both Gillian and Linda have experience as board members of housing associations.
TLT's social housing head Paul Butterworth said: "Linda and Gillian come with huge credibility and experience in the market as one of the leading legal advisory teams in the social housing sector. Their arrival in our London office is a critical part of our UK growth plan. Working together, we will have an exceptionally strong proposition and, in particular, on-the-ground support to advise on some of the major regeneration and housing developments in the capital."
Linda Convery said: "TLT has an excellent and growing reputation in the housing sector, working with a large number of registered providers and local authorities. Joining forces will help us deliver a really strong offering to the sector as it seeks to manage the many challenges of developing social housing in the UK."
Linda and Gillian will join a 40 strong social housing team spread across TLT's six UK offices, working with affordable housing providers, local authorities and private developers. Recent hires include partner Kane Kirkbride into the firm's Bristol office from Bevan Brittan. The firm acts for the likes of Swan Housing Group, The Guinness Partnership, Peabody and the Notting Hill Housing Group.
