TLT's Fiona Mundy, a family partner based in the firm’s Edinburgh office, has become an arbitrator in family law; one of less than 50 family arbitrators in Scotland.
She is now a member of the Family Law Arbitration Group Scotland.
TLT's Fiona Mundy said:
"Arbitration in family law is a relatively new and important development in Scotland. In what can be a lengthy and costly litigation process through the courts, arbitration signifies a step in the right direction. It allows clients greater control and clarity on timescales and costs.
"I'm delighted to have become an arbitrator and intend to continue to work closely with Family Law Arbitration Group Scotland to enhance the profile of arbitration in family law cases. Our aim is to move to a point where arbitration is automatically considered as one of the dispute resolution options for clients."
Fiona is a solicitor advocate with rights of audience in the Court of Session and UK Supreme Court. She is an accredited specialist in family law and acts as a reporter in child cases in Lothian and Borders.
