TLT has joined forces with amusement trade body Bacta to launch a bespoke licensing service for its Scottish members
As the principal trade association for the amusement and gaming machine industry in the UK, Bacta represents amusement arcades, seaside family entertainment venues and other related businesses across Scotland and the rest of the UK.
The new legal service gives arcade and amusement operators who are members of Bacta access to the leading and most experienced gambling law practice in Scotland including partners Stephen McGowan and Caroline Loudon, legal director Niall Hassard and solicitor Michael McDougall.
Members will receive a number of benefits through the new service, including an initial free consultation; free health checks on Gambling Commission and licensing board licences and permits and LCCP policies; newsletters; seminars; and access to discounted rates for additional follow up legal services in licensing and beyond. A comprehensive note of benefits can be located via the members' area at www.bacta.org.uk.
Stephen McGowan, partner and head of licensing (Scotland) at TLT, said: “We have been proud to represent individual amusement operators in Scotland for many years, so it made perfect sense to formalise the relationship with Bacta in order to best serve their members across the country. Operators know that their licence is their livelihood, and having the correct advice is essential. The TLT team look forward to supporting and getting to know the membership."
John White, CEO of Bacta, said: “There is no doubt that Stephen and his team are leading gambling law experts in Scotland and we are delighted that our members can now access this new TLT service. This is another great example of Bacta working to continuously offer our members the best services and benefits we can."
