29MW Twin Rivers Wind Farm sold to NTR plc

TLT has advised InfraRed Capital Partners, a leading global investment manager, in the selling of the 29MW operational Twin Rivers Wind Farm to NTR plc, a leading investor in wind energy.

The site contains 14 wind turbines and will generate enough electricity to meet the power needs of around 20,500 homes, offsetting the release of over a million tons of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

The TLT team was led by corporate partner Kay Hobbs and included partner and head of energy and renewables Maria Connolly, real estate associate Matthew Grimwood and commercial partner Neel Mehta. Banking partner Gary Roscoe provided project finance advice during the development of the site.

TLT's Kay Hobbs said: "The successful development and sale of this windfarm is testament to the hard work and expertise of the sellers, the contractors and the advisors involved in this project. It is also further evidence that there is significant activity and appetite in the market for operational assets."

James Hall-Smith of InfraRed Capital Partners said: "The sale of Twin Rivers to NTR plc is an important milestone for InfraRed and is a further evidence of the success of our value-add approach in developing greenfield renewable energy projects."

TLT's Maria Connolly added: "We have a longstanding relationship with InfraRed and we are delighted to have supported them in relation to this project over many years. The recent sale of Twin Rivers Wind Farm is a significant project, helping them deliver on their commitments to the renewables sector."

Earlier this year TLT's Energy & Renewables team was ranked as one of the most successful law firms in the European renewable energy sector in a new market report by The Lawyer and Clean Energy Pipeline. TLT ranked in the top five for European M&A deal activity; completing 26 deals worth approximately £168 million. The firm also ranked 7th regarding European project deals, having advised on 18 worth £182 million.
