The Modern Slavery Act 2015: government guidance published

Last week our article updated you on the requirement, which came into force on 29 October 2015, for large organisations to publish a slavery and human trafficking statement.

To support businesses in meeting this new requirement, the government has published statutory guidance.

In summary, the guidance provides advice on:

  • how to develop a credible and accurate slavery and human trafficking statement each year;
  • who is required to provide the statement;
  • how to write the statement;
  • how to approve and publish it; and
  • how to respond to an incidence of modern slavery.

We would be happy to assist you in applying the guidance to your preparations for making your slavery and human trafficking statement. Please contact us if you would like to discuss how this affects your business.

This publication is intended for general guidance and represents our understanding of the relevant law and practice as at November 2015. Specific advice should be sought for specific cases. For more information see our terms & conditions on www.TLTsolicitors.com
