Nina Searle will be speaking at the next event in the Start Something series hosted by Quantum Technology Enterprise Centre (QTEC) University of Bristol.
The ‘Start Something’ series is designed to inspire engineers, scientists and the technologically minded to take their technology out of the lab and into the real world.
The series covers a number of topics and aims to provide a number of inspirational talks from people who have ‘been there and done it before’ and from experts in their field who can give insight into ‘how it’s done’.
The session is open to all students, staff and particularly targeted to postgraduate students and the professional community with an interest in early stage science based business. Each session ends with drinks and networking so those seeking to start early stage ventures can meet other like minded people.
This session covers the topic of opportunity recognition; How do you recognise the possible market potential of your idea? Having recognised there might be others who want or need your idea how do you establish there is real commercial viability for it?
Equally well how important is the market? Once the new product has been established with the few early stage customers how do you get a team together and take it to the public? Will you start a company and how fast might it grow?
