  • Fire Safety and the Building Safety Bill: what do you need to know?

13.00 - 14.00 | 10 December 2020 | Zoom webinar

The Grenfell Tower Inquiry has heightened awareness across the sector of fire safety issues and prompted the government to bring forward fundamental changes in the Building Safety Bill which looks to improve building and fire safety.

With fire safety a top issue in many clients' audit and risk reports, this webinar considers some of the issues those operating in the social and affordable housing sector need to be aware of.

Head of Social Housing, Linda Convery was joined by experts from TLT’s Regulatory, Property Litigation and Construction teams to discuss a range of topics including:

  • An overview of the Building Safety Bill and key risk areas.
  • A review of leasehold structures, where does the responsibility for carrying out maintenance repairs lie and who bears the cost?
  • Cost recovery strategies, who may be liable and key issues to consider.

We’re delighted that Kieran Colgan, Director, ARK Consultancy was able to join us, who discussed the residential engagement agenda.
