About Paul

Paul is a partner in the Banking and Finance team and heads our banking and finance practice in the North West.  Paul joined TLT in 2016 from Addleshaw Goddard.

Paul has extensive experience advising financial institutions and corporate borrowers on a broad range of both strategic and transactional finance work, with a particular specialism in ESG and green finance.

Paul advises on a wide range of finance matters with extensive experience in social housing finance, real estate finance (complex investment and development transactions), restructuring work in the real estate sector, structured finance, corporate lending, public and quasi-public financing, leveraged acquisition finance and project finance.

Paul was ranked as an 'Up and coming' individual in Chambers UK 2020

Recent experience:

  • Advising Landmark Investment Group on its seminal £70 million senior debt facilities with a major debt fund and bank to refinance and grow its existing ground rent portfolio
  • Advising a national bank on all aspects of its senior debt package in relation to the restructuring of a national recycling group following a £100 million Enterprise Value private equity transaction and significant reverse takeover
  • Advising the lenders on all aspects (including subsequent restructuring) of a £200 million development financing loan for the development of an exciting new luxury Mandarin boutique hotel and 79 apartments in Mayfair (on the site of the old JLL headquarters).
  • Advising an FCA regulated insurance platform on raising shift changing unitranche and senior debt for the business to progress its development. 

Acted for a large building society on the amendment and restatement of significant debt facilities to a Jersey based property unit trust (JPUT) secured against a large shopping centre. This included restructuring facilities and strategic advice on finance and restructuring issues.
