Julie specialises in environmental compliance and investigations. She provides legal advice and representation to companies and directors facing investigation or prosecution by the Environment Agency and other Regulators.
Julie’s expertise includes environmental permitting, waste regulation, water pollution, transfrontier shipment of waste, CRC, Proceeds of Crime applications and Producer Responsibility legislation. Julie also deals with investigations and prosecutions by other Regulators including the HSE, Environmental Health, Trading Standards and VOSA/Traffic Commissioner.
In addition to contentious work, Julie provides bespoke advice to companies on a wide range of regulatory compliance issues. She advises on environmental liability and risk issues arising in real estate transactions and mergers and acquisitions.
Julie was a Prosecutor for the Environment Agency for 11 years before moving to work 'on the other side of the fence’ in 2006. She is a member of UKELA and Chartered Institute of Wastes Management and regularly lectures at industry seminars.
