Ed is a Legal Director in TLT's Technology & IP team. He regularly advises on IT and telecoms, IP, and Data Protection matters, particularly in the Digital, and Leisure & Retail sectors. He has experience leading teams and projects on major business change initiatives, and advising executive leadership teams and boards.
Ed has most recently worked for a global financial services company as senior legal counsel, and for a global retailer as Head of Legal for Europe and Asia Pacific. He also has in-house experience through secondments with international telecoms operators.
Jurisdiction: England and Wales
- Managing all legal aspects of a global financial services provider's GDPR compliance programme – from creation of registers of processing, to identification and remediation of compliance gaps, the roll-out of updated client contract templates and privacy policies, the re-negotiation of 1000s of client contracts, and the update of privacy impact assessment and subject access request processes.
- Advising a global retailer on £50m of IT services contracts associated with a complete re-platforming, support and maintenance, and ongoing development of its e-commerce arrangements.
- Reviewing and updating regulatory compliance policies and procedures on consumer protection (including product recall), anti-bribery and corruption, financial crime, competition/anti-trust law, data protection, IT security, and corporate governance, for a global retailer, and rolling out and delivering a training programme for 1000+ global employees.
- Advising on all IT contracts associated with the integration two companies' IT systems following an acquisition, including overseeing novations, assignments, terminations and re-negotiation of contracts.
