About Chantal

Chantal specialises in financial services related disputes and contentious financial services regulatory matters. 

She primarily advises financial institutions in relation to investigations and enforcement action by the FCA. She has particular experience in FCA and internal investigations, whistleblowing investigations and performance adjustment work. She regularly advises financial institutions in relation to breaches of FCA principles and conduct rules.  

She also has experience acting for major banking clients in large scale remediation programmes including arising out of the sale of interest rate hedging products and the treatment of customers during the economic downturn and in arrears.   

Chantal also advises in relation to disputes arising from retail and investment management banking divisions.  She has particular experience in disputes involving product mis-selling, breach of contract, debt recovery, professional negligence and disputes relating to the Consumer Credit Act 1974. Prior to joining TLT, Chantal spent time on secondment in the litigation teams at two major banks.

Recent experience

  • Handled a highly confidential contentious regulatory internal investigation on behalf of a major clearing bank following whistleblowing allegations concerning the conduct of a large scale project. 
  • Undertaken a 15 month secondment at a major bank in their contentious regulatory team, supporting numerous complex and high profile investigations.
  • Assisted with a significant redress programme relating to the treatment of customers during the economic downturn, including the preparation of customer communications.
