Police

"I know a class act when I see one"… the team is "like a breath of fresh air" in terms of its responsiveness and cost-effective approach."

- Chambers 2012

TLT has extensive experience working for police forces across the UK, including the the Metropolitan Police & Avon and Somerset Police, on a wide range of matters, including income generation, IT infrastructure, facilities management, procurement, shared services and real estate. Our specialist police team brings together experts in procurement and contract law, employment matters, health and safety issues, construction, planning and property matters, all of whom regularly conduct work for police forces.

We understand the implications of current and impending legislation, such as the Police Reform and Social Responsibility Act 2011 and the Localism Act, and the affects these will have on the police authorities. We appreciate that the introduction of Police and Crime Commissioners (PCCs) will be one of the most significant changes affecting the police in recent years.

Our ability to provide a complete range of legal expertise from across the firm enables us to consistently deliver efficiency and value in every area of our work. We are a member of the panel for the national framework of legal services to police forces, which requires expert advice on procurement, contractual and commercial, commercial property, residential property and PFI matters to the Mayor's Office for Policing and Crime (formerly the Metropolitan Police Authority) and up to 43 of the UK's Police Forces.

TLT is committed to understanding the latest developments in policing. Our legal team is headed up by both Bill Hull and Andrew Glynn, who have an excellent understanding of how police authorities function and the pressures faced by authorities to achieve operational results, while also delivering cost efficiencies.
