Data protection news - September 2015

Welcome to the latest edition of TLT's data protection update; our round up of recent data protection and industry news.

In this edition we report on the implications of the Ashley Madison breach and consider what is a reasonable and proportionate search in the context of a subject access request.

We review the ICO commentary on the new General Data Protection Regulation and report on the ICO's first enforcement notice relating to the 'right to be forgotten' against Google. We also consider the risks of direct marketing lists in the light of a recent Information Tribunal decision.

Please get in contact if you have any comments or would like to discuss any of the topics raised.
