UK law firm TLT has been nominated for two major industry awards, recognising its dedication to innovating on behalf of its clients.
The firm has been shortlisted in the 'AI Innovation' category at the Legal Week Innovation Awards 2018 and the 'Best client service innovation' category at The Lawyer Awards 2018.
Both nominations recognise TLT's innovative approach to transforming client service delivery and the launch of its "combined intelligence" solution for contract negotiation, TLT LegalSifter. The service was also nominated for 'Technology team of the year' at the Legal Business Awards 2018 earlier this month.
TLT saw an opportunity to combine the power of artificial intelligence (AI) with the more nuanced advice of a human lawyer in a single solution – with this "combined intelligence" solution providing better results for clients than either AI or human lawyers on their own.
TLT LegalSifter will allow clients to do a contract review in a minute or two. The software "sifts" a contract and provides in-context written advice from TLT's commercial lawyers on how to deal with the risks and offers alternative clauses. Users can also call a legal helpdesk with any questions.
As well as increasing the speed of contract reviews and enabling clients to realise the benefits of contract negotiations sooner, TLT LegalSifter allows non-lawyers such as procurement and commercial teams to manage contract reviews, freeing up in-house legal teams to focus on value-added tasks. The solution is fully customisable, improving quality across the business.
James Touzel, partner at TLT, says: "TLT LegalSifter is designed to improve the speed, value and quality of the contract review process and we are delighted that this has been recognised for so many awards. We are a digitally-driven firm and I believe that all day-to-day contracts will be reviewed in this way in the future. We are excited to be bringing this new technology to the market and pleased with the feedback from our own lawyers and clients."
The winners will be announced on 25 May and 26 June respectively.
