VR World Congress brings together the top minds in VR, tech and wider industries to network, learn and share knowledge.
Lisa Urwin, an associate in our Technology & IP team, will be talking through some of the legal issues that can arise during the lifecycle of a VR product, from the stages of narrative building and production through to reaching consumers via hardware and platform providers. Her talk will build on a recent article she published about legal issues to consider when developing products for the VR market.
Jon Gill, a partner in our Corporate team, will also be attending the conference to moderate the VR Finance 'Startup to Scaleup' panel. The panel will be discussing financing options available at the moment and the trends that investors and the government are keen to explore.
Jon has also been involved in judging the VR World Congress' Investor Showcase, where 10 Virtual, Augmented and Mixed Reality focussed companies are pitching for investments of anywhere from £25k to £2m. An unprecedented 74 applications were received to pitch at the Showcase in 2017, looking for a total of £53 million, with 19 different countries represented.
If you are attending the VR World Congress and would like to speak to a member of our team about issues such as contracts, IP rights, privacy or funding then please contact James Touzel, Jon Gill, Dan Read, Lisa Urwin or Nicole Spurling.
