Charities & Social Enterprise

Charities and social enterprise encompass a diverse range of organisations involved in delivering social benefits in a variety of ways.

Our client base is broad, including charitable and not for profit guarantee companies, unincorporated associations, trusts, benevolent societies, Industrial & Provident Societies and community interest companies. These organisations all deliver social benefits but operate across a number of sectors such as arts and heritage, welfare, grant making, education and housing often working closely with Governmental and corporate bodies either through joint ventures, as service providers or less formal collaborations.

TLT's committed, specialist team has many years of experience providing a fully comprehensive service both to charity and not for profit clients, and corporate organisations who are looking to support charitable activities.

Our team can advise on which type of organisation best suits your aims and organisation, registration and constitutions, governance, trustees powers and duties, trustee training, funding, legacies, joint ventures and collaborations, incorporation of associations, reorganisations and mergers and regulatory issues.

The team represents all the legal disciplines across TLT covering tax and trusts, employment, property, commercial (including IP and IT issues) and banking. This sector is heavily regulated and the advice we give must be given in the context of this regulation but also be practical and commercial.
