European Law Firm
TLT is a member of the European Law Firm (ELF) grouping. The group comprises around 500 lawyers in 22 European countries with a wide range of disciplines from Banking, Corporate Finance, Property and Employment to Tax, Trusts and Family Advice.Through ELF, TLT provides clients with high quality and good value legal services throughout Europe.
Whilst ELF successfully combines established local and national ability with international connections and expertise, its offices retain their individual identities within their own countries' legal systems. ELF membership is limited to one law firm per country and the group meet at least quarterly to exchange ideas, information and experience and develop an understanding between member firms. An exchange scheme has been set up to enable lawyers to swap desks across Europe and work is regularly passed between firms.
The service provided by ELF is different from that offered by many large UK firms who are member of networks and alliances. TLT personally knows lawyers from every one of the ELF firms. In most European countries including Eastern Europe we can introduce our clients to a firm of locally qualified lawyers and to a native speaker who also speaks good English, whom we can personally recommend.
To date, ELF has offices in Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Denmark, England and Wales, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, The Netherlands, Northern Ireland, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
The ELF central office is now based at TLT and is managed by Sarah Green.
ELF was the first legal grouping to register in Brussels as a European Economic Interest Grouping (EEIG).
