    Group/Team Structure:

    The Private Office team in London headed by Richard Wilson forms part of the Private Business Group, headed by David Woodward.

    The Private Business Group currently is approximately 23 people strong in London and Bristol. The Private Office team consists of Richard Wilson (Partner) with assistance from the Property, Tax & Estate Planning teams.

    The Tax & Estate Planning team have significant experience in trust administration, advise on capital taxes, trust and estate planning, and probate. Work sources are both internal: strong corporate, commercial services and pensions teams, amongst others; external referrers include the Bar, the Judiciary, accountants, Wealth Managers, private banks.

    Key work areas:
    The team acts for HNW (high net worth families and individuals) on tax, estate planning and associated matters. In addition, the team advises private banks and IFAs.
    Private Office has a big Greek client base which means one will be dealing with any member of the family advising how to solve problems and providing advise in many disparate areas.

    The Role:

    This is a hybrid role
  • You will get to know the different families and their business intimately, quickly understanding the different key individuals.
  • You will be a trusted family advisor.
  • Working directly with Richard Wilson, fielding/covering during absences. Supporting client functions, including some travel overseas.
    This role provides a great opportunity to develop as a Private Office solicitor offering great development potential for the right person.

    The ideal candidate:

  • Will adapt a common sense approach
  • Can display a high level of discretion
  • Will demonstrate a wide legal knowledge with a minimum of 2 years PQE. Ideally a property background with an interest in Tax & Private Client/Office work.
  • Flexibility the key. The successful candidate will demonstrate the key attributes of a successful Private Client Solicitor, namely (in order of importance) 'the 3 As':

  • Ability - sound technical knowledge
