Reports to:
This role will report to an Associate Solicitor who conducts financial family law.
Group/Team Structure:
Part of the Private Business Group, the Family team is regarded as the leading family team in the region. The team undertakes all family law related work but specialises in:
financial settlements following divorce or relationship breakdown
complex, substantial assets cases including pension and business aspects
prenuptial agreements
cohabitation - agreements and disputes
child residence and contact disputes
care cases and child abduction
The Role:
The role is full time and involves providing a full and professional secretarial service to the family team.
Liaising with clients, on the telephone and in person
Managing volume emails and word documents both online and hard copies
Drafting correspondence and completing standard documents
Assisting in the management of non fee earning matters
Diary management including booking of appointments and making arrangements for meetings
Filing and general administration duties such as faxing and photocopying
Reviewing incoming post and distribution
Organisation of documentation and files
Supporting the wider Family team with secretarial cover as and when a need arises
The ideal candidate:
Candidates will need excellent knowledge of Word. Experience with Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and iManage would all be an advantage.
Excellent communication skills with a good telephone manner and client care expertise are essential, since the role involves a great deal of client contact.
The ability to work using initiative in a deadline driven environment; organisational skills and flexibility are also required; along with previous experience in a legal environment. Experience of litigation work and legal aid procedures would be advantageous.
