Group/Team Structure:
The Business Development Team works very closely with the Managing Partner supporting the development and co-ordination of TLT's strategic and business development objectives. Working across the London and Bristol offices, the team's responsibilities are concentrated on client care and relationship management, new business management, external and internal communications and the development of the TLT brand.
This progressive team of 14 is led by the Business Development Director and work includes developing the Firm's CRM programme, researching and tracking new business opportunities, managing corporate hospitality and seminars, website and intranet development, brand management, communications including brochures, newsletters and other branded materials and media liaison.
The Role:
The focus of the role is to manage the proposals/tender process from supporting the identification of new business opportunities through to the production of high quality, finished documents. In addition, you will support the CRM programme, developing the Firm’s contact management system, working closely with the Senior CRM Manager and Sector Managers to liaise with client relationship managers and client service teams across the firm.
Key tasks and duties:
Researching and assessing new business opportunities and tracking new business enquiries, working with the Senior CRM Manager and Sector Managers to implement plans to pursue them.
Project management of the proposal/tender process, collating input from the bid team/s.
Drafting and production of TLT's tenders, proposals and other new business/cross selling documents to house style templates and formats. Coordinating and supporting new business pitches. Carrying out tender analysis
Developing and maintaining a 'know how' library for tenders, proposals and other new client/new business opportunities, client testimonials and related materials; maintaining the Firm’s intranet with relevant information. Maintaining and further developing the Business Development Process Bible in respect of bids and tenders.
Supporting the Senior CRM Manager with our Key Client Account and CRM programmes including sourcing information and production of client plans.
Supporting the Sector Managers with developing pitch and tender documentation for specific Sector and Group opportunities
Using the Firm's contact management system and CIO portal for new business and CRM activity, ensuring data integrity, working closely with the other Business Development team members and the Data Quality Executive/Product Manager.
Assisting the Senior CRM Manager and Sector Managers with evaluation and reports on new business and CRM activity.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
A graduate with at least 3-4 years experience in a similar role, preferably in a professional services environment.
Direct experience of managing proposals/tender submissions.
An effective communicator with a pragmatic approach, analytical, proactive and an ability to write compelling and engaging text to house style and brand.
Proven track record in managing templates and developing and formatting documents to house style and brand.
Excellent proof reading skills and attention to detail.
Ability to meet deadlines and manage time constraints.
Ability to project manage multiple bid and tender opportunities simultaneously from initiation to analysis.
Excellent organisational and administration skills
Knowledge of contact management systems and of BD processes including client/account management support and sales processes.
A team player, good at building rapport and excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent knowledge of InterAction, Word, Excel, iManage, FAME, MINT, Practice Manager and PowerPoint although training will be given on these and any other relevant applications.
