    Team Structure
    The Commercial Services Group, led by Bill Hull, is divided into 2 main teams: the commercial and corporate teams. The Commercial team advises on all aspects of commercial law, with the main focus on drafting and negotiating all types of commercial agreements both in the UK and internationally.

    The Corporate team principally handles flotations, (especially AIM, OFEX) mergers, acquisitions and disposals, MBOs, MBIs, venture capital and other finance raising. Also deals with joint ventures, group reorganisations, tax and management succession strategies.

    Both teams do a range of work for many sectors.

    Main Purpose of the Job
    To assist with secretarial and administrative tasks. To provide assistance to others in the Team and Group when required.

    Key Tasks and Duties
  • Digital dictation (audio typing)
  • Creating/amending documents. Working with large documents using track changes.
  • Answering telephone calls/dealing with clients/taking messages.
  • Filing and general admin duties such as faxing and photocopying.
  • Assisting the Team/Group with overflow typing.
  • Managing diary appointments and making arrangements for meetings.
  • Preparation of court documents, pleadings and witness statements.

    Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Copy & Audio typing - 65wpm/90%+ accuracy.
  • Use/knowledge of laserforms.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Attention to detail, good organisational skills and flexibility
  • A minimum of 6 months previous legal experience is essential and this should ideally be in a litigation team or environment.
  • Good knowledge of Word and Outlook is required and experience in Excel, PowerPoint and imanage would be beneficial.
