Position: Intellectual Property Litigator (2-3 years experience)

Acquisition 2007 of Constant & Constant - niche specialist banking and asset finance firm, with new Maritime and International Trade specialists and a significant Private Client Practice.

Group/Team Structure:
The firm is committed to the development and growth of the Technology and Media Group, itself within the Commercial Services Group, by the appointment of a specialist intellectual property litigation solicitor. This is a 2-3 year level appointment that will strengthen the existing contentious intellectual property practice:

The team consists of 6 Partners and 10 Solicitors dealing with all aspects of commercial dispute resolution including;
  • contractual and warranty claims
  • intellectual property and IT disputes
  • manufacturing and engineering
  • financial services litigation
  • partnership and shareholder disputes
  • professional negligence
  • defamation
  • arbitration and mediation
  • construction disputes
  • cross border claims

    • The successful candidate will be working closely with colleagues in Bristol and London, within both the Commercial Dispute Resolution and Intellectual Property teams, as well as with other members of the firm who also service commercial clients.

    The Role:
  • Experience of dealing with intellectual property disputes at all levels, including litigation, arbitration, mediation and other opposition procedures
  • Has a sound understanding of the principles and issues in intellectual property dispute resolution matters
  • Attending and instigating business development events
  • Contributing to best practice and precedent development
  • Taking responsibility for all aspects of personal financial management


    • The ideal candidate:
  • Will have a intellectual property litigation background and will need to demonstrate a good knowledge of litigation principles together with a genuine interest in intellectual property dispute resolution
  • A strong academic background
  • A track record in conduct of all types of intellectual property disputes
  • Good commercial awareness
  • A commitment to developing the Intellectual Property team and the firm's wider practice.
