Corporate finance partner Andrew Webber was last night named 'Young Dealmaker of the Year' in the 2008 South West Deal Awards. The awards recognise excellence in the corporate finance market and are held in association with regional publication the Western Daily Press. TLT was also a finalist in the 'Corporate Law Firm of the Year' and 'Deal of the Year' award categories.
The award was presented to Andrew in recognition of his fast-track career and for having led some of the most creative and dynamic deals in the region. Described by clients as "incredibly commercially aware" and "highly competent, professional and personable", Andrew is well-respected by clients, colleagues and market commentators for his technical expertise and his ability to lead even the most complex of deals through to a successful completion.
Andrew specialises in M&A transactions, regularly advising on deals in the £5-50m mid-market range. Having led some of the firm's most complex deals during the last 12 months, including the disposal of Eurostore Group to Manutan International and the MBO of Plastic Surgeon Fine Finishers. Andrew was also involved in the MBO of Stonegate Farmers Ltd., short listed for Deal of the Year.
In May 2008 Andrew was promoted to the partnership at TLT, making him one of the firm's youngest ever partners.
The 'Young Dealmaker of the Year' is the latest accolade for TLT, which was named 'Corporate Law Firm of the Year' in the South West Deal Awards last year. Since then TLT's corporate finance team has built upon this success, advising a wider range of clients on mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and management buy-outs. Led by partner John Wood, the team now comprises 20 fee earners including nine partners and two independently recognised experts (Chambers UK).
