TLT strengthens social housing expertise with strategic hire and partner promotion

National law firm TLT has significantly strengthened its social housing capability with the appointment of specialist social housing lawyer Andrew Shaw to its 30–strong team. In addition, affordable housing expert, Kate Silverman has been promoted to partner in recognition of her strong sector expertise.
Andrew joins TLT as an associate from Maclay Murray & Spens where he was a senior solicitor. He has over 10 years' sector experience advising registered providers and local authorities on all aspects of acquisition, regeneration and development. This has included coordinating all legal input on large scale regeneration projects and managing day-to-day relationships with some of the biggest names in the industry.
As a partner Kate will continue to advise major registered providers on strategic issues such as stock rationalisation, mixed use social housing and extra care schemes.

Recent highlights for the team include advising Swan Housing Association on the £300 million Blackwall Reach Regeneration Project, which is one of the largest regeneration projects in London and includes approximately 1,600 new, mixed-tenure homes, along with the creation of improved open spaces, and new retail and community facilities, including a mosque. Other clients include The Guinness Trust, One Housing Group and Peabody Trust.
