Ship Finance
We have a strong ship finance team and advise on a wide range of UK and international transactions. The team works with most of the major ship finance banks including RBS, Deutsche Schiffsbank AG, HSH Nordbank, Bank of Scotland, Fortis Bank, Credit Suisse and Caterpillar Financial Services Corporation.
We advise on:
Drafting and negotiation of loan documentation with lenders and borrowers
Negotiation of new building contracts
Negotiation of long term charters and leasing arrangements
Ship sale and purchase (new building and second hand tonnage)
Restructuring of existing credit facilities, including workouts and enforcements
Recent examples of our work include:
Acting on the instructions of the Commercial Court on the sale of an Oil Rig in the Middle East;
Acting for an Indian bank on the provision of finance for the acquisition of Bulk Carriers to be registered on the Panamanian Registry;
Acting for a US lender on the provision of finance for the construction of 3 Chinese Bulk carriers to be registered in the Marshall Islands.
